Your Favourite Typo Competition

We've been congratulated on our correct spelling of fuchsia. Good to get the spelling right! We've had some beauties over the years; a regular is "Singing of the Register". We always check - the Bride may be a fine soprano! What's been your favourite typo? We'll choose our favourite entry and the winner can have 100 business cards in one colour on a heavy weight board. Fuchsia, Foil & Ink

The Edinburgh Montessori Arts School "supports and encourages discovery, problem solving and creativity, developing children’s self esteem and confidence through freely chosen, enjoyable pursuits. Each child’s abilities are refined and their powers of expression enriched."
The school's logo evokes the positive ethos of Montessori education whilst conveying its imaginative approach and enthusiasm for life.
We were pleased to print a business card for the school, designed by Janey Boyd at Mamook Graphic Design.
The stock is Colorplan from GF Smith, a duplex of Fuchsia and Bright White at 540gsm.
On the white side, we letterpress printed two colours of ink, one of which we matched to the Fuchsia board. The swirly sun logo and the aphorism, "inspiring young minds" are blind debossed.
We foiled the school logo on the fuchsia side in a clear gloss. Bright, vibrant and stimulating!

Editions Financial

We were pleased to produce very fine business cards for Editions Financial.
Art Director, Oisin O'Malley has kindly written the following design rationale.
"After 15 years in business, Editions Financial wanted to emphasise their financial credentials as a content agency. The creative challenge was to design a logo which combines financial specialism and insight while also being approachable.
So we came up with a solution which marries both sides of the brain using a handwritten font for 'Editions' which emphasises our bespoke aspect to creative solutions.
We combined that with a substantial sans serif for 'Financial' to instill confidence and trust.
With regard to colour, we wanted to create cut-through but restrained enough for our client base.
And finally, we wanted our business cards to speak volumes about our creativity and attention to detail, so we chose letterpress with duplexing."

The business card stock is Colorplan 540gsm; a duplex of Tabriz Blue & Pristine White. We applied white foil to the blue side and letterpress printed black ink and an ink mix to match the tabriz blue on the white side.

The high quality of their business card reflects the importance of this service.
The text; contact details, very effective logo and a fitting statement by Emerson, are letterpress printed on a pale grey board, duplexed to 540gsm weight.

Glasgow International Festival of Visual Art

We were delighted to be involved in the festival in a very small way. After weeks of planning and preparation, our neighbours at Govan Beacon staged an amazing event at Riverside.
We produced a small ferry token which could be used to cross the river and kept as a memento of the day.
We letterpress printed black ink on Dutch greyboard and drilled a hole through. The artists then embellished the tag with detritus from the River Clyde and added a strand of brightly coloured string.
The sun shone and everyone seemed to have a great time. Here are some pictures of the events.
